Pure unpasteurised honey will set over time therefore our local honey can arrive runny or set depending on the time of year.
All of the honey sold across our website is unpasteurised in order to preserve the natural goodness of the honey. How it’s made:
This local Cambridgeshire honey is harvested from the hives at our Glatton apiary. Once we remove the frames filled with pure golden honey from our hives they are taken to be processed straight away. The thin layer of beeswax, known as wax cappings, are removed by a sharp knife releasing the free flowing pure honey. The pure delicate honey now free flowing from the frames are slotted down into a honey extractor. Using centrifugal force the unpasteurised honey is spun and subsequently forced out onto the side of the extractor. After a period of time the honey settles to the bottom of the extractor it is then filtered to remove any debris such as beeswax whilst ensuring the natural grains of pollen remain, retaining the nutritional benefits.
